Auto Repair is as Easy as Changing the Lightbulb

You wouldn’t think that you would need to take out your Nissan repair manual in order to change a headlight these days, but some of today’s cars have gotten so complicated that you almost need to be a professional in order to replace even the basic things. Of course, that isn’t true of every make and model out there. While it is true that every car is different, they shouldn’t be so different that these tips won’t at least help out.

Go to an automotive repair shop and buy the right bulb for your vehicle. Some repair manuals might list the type you need, whereas others won’t. You will have to look through yours to find out. You won’t need your Nissan repair manual, Plymouth repair manual or any other type of manual if you visit some stores because they can look up the code for you.

You will now need to locate where the bulb is placed into the socket and remove the wiring harness that surrounds it . There are a few types of wiring harnesses. A plastic catch will have a lever sticking up from the top, pull it down and you can pull the top off. A metal clip you can just pull up and away, and a screw cap is removed just as it sounds, twist it off. From there it is as easy as it would be to change out a light bulb in your house. Out with the old and in with the new. When you are done, just remember to put everything back on.
