Cantors Deli and Watts Towers are Major Cultural Landmarks in Los Angeles

Of all the incredibly entertainment options and fabulous beaches that are associated with Los Angeles, California, it is no wonder that some people often overlook one of the biggest attractions that is associated with area. That is, unless they are visiting the greater Los Angeles area specifically for the reason of going to Disneyland. However, it could also be the fact that Disneyland is located in Anaheim, and since all of the areas around LA are growing in their own right and development strong independent associations, Disneyland may no longer be an immediate association of Los Angeles. That actually testifies to the enormous growth that area has received in recent decades as there has certainly been no decline in either the popularity of Disneyland or the great attractions that are found right in the city of Los Angeles.

Cantor’s Delicatessen and Watts Towers are just two of the great city icons that are based on the individual efforts and the cultural heritage of LA.

Cantor’s has been a staple of Los Angeles since 1931. It is located on Fairfax Avenue and is open 24 hours a day. It has been visited by some of the biggest stars in history and continues to be a favorite among the famous. The bakery has some of the best breads and pastries available in LA. Watts Towers is another major landmark that exists due to the sole efforts of one man. Simon Rodia was an Italian Immigrant living in the Watts district of LA and over a period of 33 years constructed these towers, two of which reach heights of over 99 feet. The structure is composed of pieces of broken bottles, cans, pottery and other items he would find. It’s places like these that really entice the tourists in some of the luxury Los Angeles hotels . And they provide the best access to the city’s cultural traditions and development.
